It's a dog's world and we're just living in it.
The trailer for Wes Anderson's upcoming animated comedy, Isle of Dogs, has just hit the web, and by the looks of things, this canine adventure should be quite a treat for moviegoers and fans of the acclaimed director.
Set in Japan 20 years in the future, the film follows 12-year-old Atari Kobayashi, who sets out on an epic journey in search of his beloved pooch, who's been banished with other pups to a vast garbage dump called Trash Island after an outbreak of dog flu.
You might say Anderson is throwing us a bone with this one. Dogs is his second stop-motion effort following 2009's hugely successful Fantastic Mr. Fox, which collared a Golden Globe and an Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
And as usual, the helmer has rounded up an all-star cast. Actors lending their voices to the Fox Searchlight toon include Grand Budapest Hotel collaborators Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Tilda Swinton, Jeff Goldblum, and Harvey Keitel, along with Bryan Cranston, Kunichi Nomura, Frances McDormand, Greta Gerwig, Courtney B. Vance, Scarlett Johansson, Bob Balaban, and F. Murray Abraham, among others.
Isle of Dogs barks its way into theaters on March 23, 2018.
