With an adaptation of her old novel The Tale of the Body Thief already in the works, author Anne Rice is waxing poetic about who she'd like to take the lead role if her latest book makes it to the big screen.
Rice told Good Morning America that her ideal choice to play werewolf reporter Reuben, the protagonist of her new work The Wolf Gift, is none other than an alum from the earliest years of NBC's Chuck: Matt Bomer, who played the spy Bryce Larkin.
Bomer currently stars in the hit USA series White Collar as a do-gooder con-man.
"I think he's a charming, wonderful actor," Rice said. "I think he's so good in White Collar, so funny and so fresh and so wonderfully handsome, and at the same time, sort of unassuming and charming."
Though film rights have not been picked up for the novel, released this week, a spokesperson for Rice told Entertainment Weekly a deal could be forthcoming.
The story, which follows a "Man Wolf" reporter searching for answers, is a standalone novel and not directly tied to Rice's popular Vampire Chronicles series.
