We've already seen Tony Stark's new armored duds for the upcoming Iron Man 3, but this time another member of the cast might get her own shiny new suit. Could Gwyneth Paltrow's Pepper Potts join Iron Man and War Machine in her own repulsor armor?
Back in 2009, writer Matt Fraction introduced a Stark-made suit of armor for Pepper in the pages of Invincible Iron Man. Pepper took up the suit in a moment of crisis and later adopted the code name "Rescue." Since then she's often been seen zipping around the Marvel Universe lending a hand, and Iron Man movie fans have been wondering for a while if she'll get to do the same in the cinematic continuity.
At the Iron Man 3 panel at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, Iron Man and Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau mentioned that the idea of suiting Pepper up has been bandied about more than once already.
"We almost did it a few times; we talked about it a lot. I think we all share your enthusiasm for that, and we all want to see Gwyneth kick a little ass," he said.
Marvel Studios mastermind Kevin Feige echoed Favreau's enthusiasm for the idea.
"Everyone at this table thinks it would be the coolest thing in the world to see Pepper get in the suit at some point," he said.
But despite the love for the Rescue concept, no one at the panel confirmed (or denied) that it would happen, either in Iron Man 3 or a future Tony Stark adventure. Still, it does seem to make the possibility stronger, and Iron Man 3 isn't done shooting yet ...
What do you think? Is it time for Pepper to suit up?
