Wonder Woman, Spider-Man: Homecoming, The Flash win big at Teen Choice Awards

Say what you will about teens and their taste in, well, everything — but the kids can definitely recognize some good superhero stuff when they see it. Let’s hit the high points for sci-fi fans.

The Teen Choice Awards on Nickelodeon last night included a ton of wins for superhero movies and shows, with Wonder Woman positively killing it at the kid-friendly awards show. Wonder Woman won for “Choice Action Movie,” and stars Gal Gadot and Chris Pine won both the male and female “Choice Action Movie Actor” awards. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 won for “Choice Sci-Fi Movie” (beating out Arrival, Kong: Skull Island, and Rogue One), and stars Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana won “Choice Sci-Fi Actor” in the male and female categories.

Spider-Man: Homecoming bought home the top prize for “Choice Summer Movie,” as stars Tom Holland and Zendaya won “Choice Summer Movie Actor” awards in the male and female categories.

Looking to television, the comic spinoff Riverdale won “Choice Drama TV Show,” and star Cole Sprouse was “Choice Drama TV Actor.” The Vampire Diaries won “Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show” (beating out Stranger Things and Timeless, among others). Dylan O’Brien (Teen Wolf) and Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries) won the “Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actor” categories. The CW’s Flash won “Choice Action TV Show,” while star Grant Gustin won “Choice Action TV Actor.” Melissa Benoist (Supergirl) won “Choice Action TV Actress.”
