There has been a cavalcade of rumors surrounding the new Wonder Woman film, but now the studio is finally starting to roll out some test screenings. So, how is it stacking up?
First up, a caveat: Anyone who attends a test screening of Wonder Woman is bound by a non-disclosure agreement not to so much as tweet about it, so these reactions are almost all second-hand and super-vague. But the general consensus seems to be that the movie is … fine.
Okay. Not terrible, and not all that great. Some dug it, some didn't.
Which, admittedly, is still better than initial rumors that the flick was a Dawn of Justice-sized train wreck. Of course, this is also just a test screening, so things could still be tweaked.
Not surprisingly, the movie is drawing some comparisons to Captain America: The First Avenger. They're both period-set, war-torn superhero movies. So, yeah, not a huge shock there. The biggest surprise is that Chris Pine's Steve Trevor apparently steals the show. Which is cool, sure, but this is supposed to be Wonder Woman's movie, right?
Wonder Woman opens June 2. Until then, take these with a grain of salt.
