If you're looking to make a hit movie, and you work at Fox, you don't have to look too far. Between a hit trilogy, the Wolverine flick and the buzzy prequel First Class, X-Men is a proven commodity—and they want to milk it for all it's worth.
Look no further than the X-Men comic spinoff New Mutants, focusing on a young team of mutant heroes in training.
The folks at Collider recently got a sit-down with 20th Century Fox CEO Tom Rothman, who got very coy when the prospect of a New Mutants film project was tossed out.
When asked if they may be working on more X-Men projects, such as New Mutants, Rothman reportedly smiled and responded with a simple "Yes," adding that an announcement could come sometime this summer.
Pushed a bit further, he added: "Let me just say this. All I have to say is, I agree with you in your assessment of the potential in a lot of these characters."
Sound off: Would you like to see the New Mutants on the big screen?
