9. Pitch Black

The premise is simple: A spaceship carrying a dangerous felon (Vin Diesel as Riddick) crash-lands on a desert planet filled with flying aliens who only come out in the dark. The bad news: A one-month eclipse is about to begin. The good news: Riddick has specials eyes that allow him to see in the dark. As the survivors flee to a ship across the planet, pursued by the vicious aliens, things unravel and the group is picked off one by one. As their light sources fade and the creatures swarm, the group must navigate through a narrow canyon to safety on the other side. Vin Diesel's badassery coupled with some creepy aliens makes this scene both terrifying and amusing; a deadly and delightful combination.
