Shortly after the watch incident, Cole tells her to meet him in two years at the John Adams hotel, and then Cassie watches as Cole disappears before her very eyes. Time travel. It's a real thing, team.

  1. Time travel!

    This is how Cole travels back in time (and back to the future).

    In most sci-fi properties, time travel is a simple, painless process that seems as easy as if Jeannie herself blinked you into a era. It's nice to see it treated as a painful, debiltating, not-easy process. Well, not nice per say as Cole looks like he's about to puke after every jump, but the realistic touch is appreciated.
     
  2. The bullet wound heard around the time spear. Cole gets shot in 2013 and returns to his past - our present - in 2015 with the same wound! Amazing and painful!


     
  3. The watch! The multipurpose heirloom time piece given to Cassie by her grandfather creates paradoxes and blows shit up right when you need it to. Casio should consider diversifying into explosives.


     
  4. The plague.

    Cole explains that, by 2017, the plague has killed 7 billion people. And this is what Cole has been sent back in time to stop. But wow, it's not going to be easy.
