We get it. Time travel can be confusing, so here's a timeline that features ALL the Season 4 time jumps, to help you keep track.
12 Monkeys Timeline
Olivia’s better half is transferred to the dark ages. Turns out, that's the skeleton that was kept in the lab back in Season 2. Damn!
Jennifer arrives in 1491 and is immediately tried as a witch (not so surprising). Cole and Cassie show up to save the day; packing serious heat.
Titan splinters to 1491 … exactly what Jones wanted! With Titan now in medieval times, Dr. Adler can use Titan’s signature to get Cole, Cassie and Jennifer back there as well.
Cole, Cassie, Jennifer and their new medieval primary friend, Chorus, travel to her father's (Nicodemus) castle for help. Deacon’s already got the place on lock down, and Nicodemus and Chorus show the gang that they are the keepers of the Demon puzzle.
The sacred weapon is a time machine? Titan Splinters to the site of the sacred weapon and they not only stop Cole from using the sacred weapon, they destroy it and execute Deacon.
Dr. Adler completes the The Time Machine Vest and sends it to 1491. Cole goes time travel crazy and saves everyone that's still alive.
Jones sends Cassie, Cole, Jennifer, and Hannah back to Blackleaf, Montana after reading the message left in the Ouroboros.
What?! Hannah’s father (Jones' Husband), The Tall Man, and a host of other anachronistic items contribute to make Blacklead feel completely out of time.
A Native American man has been waiting for the squad, and he has a message for them: "Climb the steps ring the bell." Jennifer needs to know more, so she sips the Chief's red tea. During her vision she sees the medievil cabal, but Olivia sees this an now knows exactly where and when they are
Elliot and Hannah splinter back to 1852 to destroy Titan. But, who is waiting for them other than treacherous turncoat, Deacon.
In a failed, elaborate attempt to destroy Titan in 1852, Elliot (Jones' Husband and Hannah's father) is shot by Deacon. Titan takes some hits, but remains functional.
Jones, Cassie, Cole, and Jennifer travel back to 1940 Paris to attend the gala event of a nazi desperate for acknowledgment. This is the one moment in time the bell (die glocke, the ultimate weapon) was put on display.
Under the guise of an über rich real estate holder, Jones and Cassie sneak in, Jennifer is a French maid, and Cole is a dumb/deaf street porter. Deacon shows up and quickly points his pistol as Cole. Old habits die hard.
Under the guise of J.H. Bond, her singer alter ego that she created when she was stuck in France (in Season 3), Jennifer performs U + Ur Hand (the P¡nk classic) for Hitler. He likes it.
Using a sexy distraction, Cole and Cassie retrieve the bell.
Screw the timeline! Jennifer just killed Hitler!
The gang examines the Bell to find another time and place message: 1491 Hertfordshire, England.
Cassie and Cole go to 1966. They arrive at the motel too late, but are able to make a deal with a mysterious phone caller to exchange the money left behind for the mysterious weapon
Jennifer travels back to 1966 and contacts agent Gale (who survived his nazi run-in with a bullet-proof vest) and they barge in on the Russians before Cassie and Cole can get there. Gale kills them and then, when faced with creating a paradox, Jennifer writes the message on the wall.
Cassie arrives back in 1966, for the second time, to save Cole from being poisoned. But this time, both Cassie and Cole get poisoned.
Agent Gale pieces together a series of clues. It turns out the Nazis found something of antiquity called "Die Glocke" (the bell). Looks like the gang is going back to World War 2.
Deacon shows up and manages to grab the case (the one that's holding the ultimate weapon) that has been waiting for Cole. On his way out he winks at Jennifer. Has Deacon been playing Olivia this whole time? Later, it's revealed that this Bell is fake.
Gale and Jennifer save Cole and Cassie with an antidote to the poison.
The plan is simple, use the machine from 2043 to travel back to 1971 to the day that Olivia was arrested, the one day that she was vulnerable.
Olivia dances with her friend - not a care in the world - until the morning sickness starts. They’re clearly runaways, but what are they on the run from? Enter Mantis! On the search of her escaped daughter.
In 1971 Cassie has finished her preparations and is ready to snipe Olivia as she enters the jailhouse. But, Cassie is unexpectedly fired upon and finds herself quickly jailed.
Olivia gets arrested while running away and who does she find in the cell next to her? Cassie. In a weird, severely twisted and also kind of sweet way, they kind of bond over their children’s destinies.
By using the true power of Titan, 2046 Olivia is able to occupy 1971 Olivia’s mind and create a scenario where Cassie shoots Mantis instead of Olivia. Then 2046 Olivia shows up for real to claim 1971 Olivia's newborn.
Cole travels back 1971 to join Cassie. It’s time to break the cycle.
Cole travels back to tie up some loose timeline ends. He fights himself, saves himself, and saves Jennifer in 2018. His journey takes him to 2007 where he rescues Ramse and brings him back to 2043 to fight Olivia.
Jones sends Hannah to March 8, 2007 on a “mission of choice”. She gives Hannah an envelope to open 2 years later.
Hannah finds "Marion Woods" in 2009 and it’s Olivia’s daughter!
Hannah and Emma go to find Jones and Elliot to warn them of what they’re about to create. They are attacked and during their escape they run into Cole’s father. Hannah falls in love with Matthew.
Now in the new timeline, Cassie has a strange feeling and goes to the Emerson hotel, but there’s not record of James Cole. Cassie waits for Cole, who eventually shows up, courtesy of Jones secret planning.
Jones and Cole go to talk to Hannah, and let her make the decision to be Cole’s mother. The 3 share a moment: Son and Mother and Grandmother.
Detective Bonham (Conleth Hill) is a special investigator tasked with finding who stole the mysterious Ouroboros artifact
Jennifer is on the run from Bonham and finds herself at an impasse at the train station.
2018 Future asshole Cole (ie. Not 2046 Cole, an even further in the future Cole) shows up to save Jennifer just in time. Jennifer delivers a cheeseburger to 2046 Cole and then arrange a meeting with Bonham to talk about the Ouroboros
Cole uses the story (that one about the serpent and the demon) that his father used to tell him as a kid to solve the ouroboros puzzle and it reveals a time and a place: Blackleaf 1852
After a false start, Cassie and Cole go back to earlier in 2018 to the Markridge group holding center to destroy the virus. In a horrible twist of causality, they discover that they must be the people to unleash the virus.
Hannah jumps in front of a bullet for James. In her shock, Cassie drops the vial and unleashes the virus.
The facility arrives at the Emerson Hotel in 2043. The hotel has certainly seen better days, but they manage to find some of Jennifer’s drawings that she left behind, most noticeably a rendering of the Ouroboros.
Cole and Hannah travel (old-fashioned walking, not time) to the facility of 2043 to look for a new core to power their 2046 version and run into the older versions of Cole and Ramse.
We’re back in Season 1, and we see 2043 Cole and Ramse scaving. Ahh yes, more light-hearted times. After they get into a fight with some goons, Cole finds a watch that looks very familiar.
2046 Cassie eavesdrops on 2043 Cole watching an interview of 2018 Cassie (this is confusing). During the interview she appears to look at the camera and say “Sometimes, Cassie, a circle, a loop is just a second chance." A message perhaps?
In a very uncharacteristic destruction of one of the founding principles of time travel, 2046 Jones confronts 2043 Jones and finds a way to give her the missing piece to her time travel conundrum without breaking any causality rules. Hint: Alcohol was definitely involved
Cassie travels to 1971 to kill a young Olivia.
Hannah force splinters Elliot back to 2043, where Elliot reveals that he’s been building Titan in 1852. Elliot has an epiphany about Titan’s true purpose: To punch a whole in time and space and create the red forest.
The team travels back to the 2043 to research the cryptic message they received in 1852: "Climb the steps. Ring the bell." The only hit they they get is some grafitti from July 21 1966.
The deal for the ultimate weapon seems in their grasp until Shaw (Christopher Lloyd) shows up with his son and poisons Cole. Cassie splinters back to 2043, so that she can go back to save Cole's life.
Jennifer draws all of the remaining squiggles and shapes in her head. Leaving a cryptic message for the gang to figure out. The analysis of Jennifer’s scribblings reveal a coordinate they’ve never been to: April 3, 2018. JFK airport 2 days before the plague hits.
Jennifer, Adler and Jones untangle the timeline mystery with a creative simulation. Jennifer’s codes only represented Cole’s jumps. The primaries created a machine… to erase James Cole! Cole is the Demon.
Cole takes Cassie to an unknown time and place and (squeee!!) proposes to her!
Jennifer red-tea-travels and has a little chat with Olivia. They bait Olivia into occupying Jennifer's body and make her think they have the ultimate weapon. Oliva splinters Titan to 2043
It’s the Attack on Titan! Jones is about to be shot, when older Jennifer, Deacon, and Max show up to save the day! Looks like Jennifer grabbed some reinforcements from the current timeline.
Ramse and Cole take Cole's Father's car and drive it into the newly splintered Titan. Jones splinters the facility into Titan.
After an epic battle with Olivia and a heart to heart with Cole, Cassie does the right thin and shuts down Titan before it reaches the Hartle–Hawking state.
Ramse goes back to 2007 to be shot by Cole and complete his loop. Jennifer heads back to an unknown time to raise Hannah and the daughters. Jones dies and Cole boots up the machine one last time to complete his cycle.
Back in 2046 Jones is reeling from a potentially fatal injury, and Cassie isn’t doing a whole lot to help.
BAM! Titan (the time-travelling behemoth controlled by Olivia) arrives on the scene and launches a full-scale attack on the research facility.
Jones, still injured but no longer on death’s door, reveals her plan to save them all: Project Charon. They’re going to pull a Titan and splinter the entire facility. The team mounts a daring escape during Titan’s attack on the facility, and manages to splinter everyone out of 2046, but Deacon doesn’t make it!
Olivia experiences a little self-doubt as to the veracity of her claim as the witness, but after drinking some red forest tea, and speaking with her future self, she becomes convinced that her destiny is to become primary.
By using the true power of Titan, 2046 Olivia is able to occupy 1971 Olivia’s mind and create a scenario where Cassie shoots Mantis instead of Olivia.
Deacon delivers Jones to Olivia, to prove he's still on her side.
Olivia tasks her daughter with completing Titan, and tries to steal the location of the ultimate weapon from Jones. She tortures Jones with Hannah's death until she gives up the time and place: Hertfordshire England, 1491.
