Production officially got underway on Deadpool 2 this week, and Josh Brolin couldn't wait to show us what he's undergoing to become Cable.
While Ryan Reynolds has already posted a photo from the set (see below), Brolin shared a picture on Instagram in which a mold is being taken of his face to prepare the prosthetics needed to alter him into the time-traveling mutant warrior.
Brolin wrote in the caption: "Insanity on the brink. Face is morphing into something machine, fierce, hair sliced, arm machined, bulged. Where is Deadpool?!? Looking. Looking. All I got are these two...molding me, prodding, turning me into something hard."
Those are some fierce stares there. Brolin, of course, has a foot in two Marvel universes, not just portraying Cable but also performing as Thanos in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, although he's mostly in a motion capture suit for that gig.
Meanwhile, not to be outdone, Deadpool himself (Reynolds) posted his own photo on Wednesday in which he is seen with new cast member Julian Dennison (Hunt for the Wilderpeople). His caption read, "Giving Julian Dennison a warm (Deadpool) welcome as we stare off into our beautiful future together."
David Leitch (John Wick) is directing the film -- taking over from the first movie's Tim Miller -- while screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are back, this time with an assist from Drew Goddard. Deadpool 2 is set for release on June 1, 2018, and we expect lots more to come on social media between then and now.
