In a premise that seems at first yanked straight out of an old Twilight Zone episode from Rod Serling, here's the new trailer for Polaroid, featuring a supernatural camera from the '70s that can predict death.

This summer horror flick comes from the producers of The Ring and The Grudge and could offer a refreshing dose of scares if the execution is original.

Directed by Lars Klevberg (adapted from his award-winning short), with a script by Blair Butler, Polaroid flashes into theaters on August 25 and stars Kathryn Prescott (Finding Carter), Mitch Pileggi (The X-Files), Grace Zabriskie (The Grudge), Tyler Young (Eyewitness), Keenan Tracey (Bates Motel), Samantha Logan (The Fosters) and Priscilla Quintana (Stranded).

Here's the official synopsis from Dimension Films:

High school loner Bird Fitcher has no idea what dark secrets are tied to the mysterious Polaroid vintage camera she stumbles upon, but it doesn’t take long to discover that those who have their picture taken meet a tragic end. Based on the short by Lars Klevberg, the story mixes elements of The Ring and Final Destination to create one of the most unique and scary films.
