The 42nd Annual Saturn Awards were held in Burbank this week, with the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films honoring the year's best genre offerings in film, television and home video. This year, Syfy's own Continuum and Haven are amongst the prestigious winners.

Continuum was crowned Best Science Fiction TV Series, beating some pretty formidable competition including The X-Files, Doctor Who, Colony, The 100, Wayward Pines and Syfy's own The Expanse. The time travel action series recently concluded after four seasons and 42 episodes.

Meanwhile, sci-fi icon William Shatner won Best Guest Star for his villainous turn on the fifth and final season of Haven. Shatner's supernatural character, Croatoan, was recently mentioned in our Tribute to Syfy Dads.
