Syfy Headed For Harrow County
Syfy has its sights on a new destination: Harrow County, a not-so-nice place to live … but definitely an exciting one!
Harrow County is based on the Dark Horse comic book series written by Cullen Bunn and illustrated by Tyler Crook. It will be adapted as a television series by Becky Kirsch, who has written for Syfy's own Dominion and 12 Monkeys.
Harrow County centers on Emmy, a young girl who has always known that the deep, dark woods surrounding her home crawl with ghosts, goblins and the restless dead. On the eve of her 18th birthday, she learns that she is connected to these creatures and to the land itself in a way she never imagined, for she is the reincarnation of a powerful witch who was put to death on the very day Emmy was born.
Harrow County was originally a serialized prose story called "Countless Haints," written by Bunn and released on his blog. It ran for ten chapters before it was retired and repurposed as an ongoing comic with Crook, with the first issue being released on May 13, 2015.
The first trade paperback, Countless Haints, was released on December 2 and collects Harrow County issues 1-4 along with a 24-page sketchbook and the original "Countless Haints" prose story.
