X-Men: Who Is Apocalypse?

X-Men: Who Is Apocalypse?

Get to know the big mutant baddie.

By Bryan Enk

So, the new X-Men movie is called X-Men: Apocalypse. In this case, "Apocalypse" isn't referring so much to the end of the world (well, it sort of is, but hang on) as it is to the film's chief antagonist: a dude named Apocalypse, played by Oscar Isaac.

So who is Apocalypse? Well, he might very well be the world's very first mutant, born over 5,000 years ago and exiled due to his weird skin color. Throw in his harnessing of alien technology and all sorts of wicked mutant powers and you've got yourself the most formidable foe the X-Men have ever faced.

Obviously, this guy's got a lot of history, and our pals over at Blastr have condensed 5,000 years of mutant goings-on into a five-minute video. Check it out below, and head over to Blastr.com for all things sci-fi and fantasy ... and while you're at it, why not subscribe to their YouTube channel to get all the latest original videos?

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27.
