Welcome back to Our Top Looks, where we decide who did the best work on Face Off, regardless of the judgment of the esteemed judges!

How to Watch

Catch up on Face Off on Peacock or the SYFY App.

This week had the artists creating a character based on a face card from a classic deck of cards, inspired by Tim Burton when he's in 'whimsy mode' (like with Alice in Wonderland) and not, you know, 'bloody mode' (like with Sleepy Hollow and Sweeney Todd).

Season 8, Episode 4: "Royal Flush"

Top Looks (Judges):

1. Emily (Queen of Hearts)
2. Darla (Jack of Hearts)
3. Julian (Jack of Clubs)

Our Top Looks:

  1. Emily (Queen of Hearts)
Okay, yeah. This is really quite gorgeous. And did you know that Emily is, like, 18 years old? Yep, a bright future for this young lady.

  2. Kelly (Queen of Spades)
The judges deemed this one merely 'Safe,' but we found the Queen of Spades to be one of the most 'Tim Burton-ish' of all the characters. She would also look right at home as a Disney villainess.

  3. Regina (Joker)
Again, deemed merely 'Safe,' but Regina deserves high marks in our book for daring to take on a two-faced character ... and pulling it off with skill and charm. A nifty trick and very slick.

  4. Stephanie (King of Diamonds)
Another merely 'Safe' choice of the judges, and Stephanie herself thought her character was maybe a little too "vampirey," but we dig him. There's true pathos and power in this guy.

Next Week: The artists bring vision ... to sound!
