Sharknado 6 Marks the End of a Cult Classic Era

Turns out, the 6th time is the real charm.

Five summers, a few (thousand) celeb cameos and countless 'nados later, the Sharknado franchise will make its final splash in Summer 2018. Our hero Fin née Ian Ziering along with Tara Reid, Cassie Scerbo, Vivica A. Fox and Judah Friedlander have signed on to battle the storm one last time in Sharknado 6. More deets about the film's premise, additional guest cast info and an official air date will be announced SOON but in the meantime, let's celebrate the end of a cult classic era by remembering some very important events throughout Sharknado history:

Summer 2013: The first Sharknado movie debuts and you liked it, you really, really liked seeing vicious man-eating sharks and gravity defying water spouts.

Fall 2013: College students across the country switch their majors to meteorology after watching Sharknado. Annnnd, we're totally making this up but it's a legit assumption!

Summer 2015: We give a bite-by-bite recap of Sharknado: The Second One ...because, why not?

Summer 2015: Sharknado 3 bingo is a thing. Inspired by Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No, of course.

Summer 2015: Archie Comics gets in on the fun with Archie vs. Sharknado, the comic!

Summer 2015: The cast of Sharknado 3 take Comic-Con by storm. Pun Intended.

Spring 2016: We make a mashup video of all the death scenes from the first 3 Sharknado movies because we care.

Summer 2016: Obama doesn't hate being compared to a Sharknado. And we're totally not making this up!

Summer 2016: Sharknado 4: The 4 Awakens... awakens (oh, yes we did!) a video game.

Spring 2017: Ask and we shall receive. Thanks for helping us name Sharknado 5!

Summer 2017: Tara Reid's hair, make-up and promo shots give us life and Sharknado 5: Global Swarming destroys the planet, hence the world "global".

Summer 2018: TBD... but we're pretty sure it's going to be epic!
