Looking back at 2017, there are some very important life lessons we’ve all learned from the various movies, TV series, books, video games, and comic books that have been released over the year in nerddom.

Films like Justice League, Thor: Ragnarok, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and Spider-Man: Homecoming and TV shows like Stranger Things, Game of Thrones, and the Archie Comics-based Riverdale (to name just a few) have been invaluable in providing essential wisdom to take with us into 2018.

So SYFY WIRE has compiled a list of 10 geeky life lessons learned this year into a neat little package, wrapped up with a sparkly red bow on top. Without further ado, here’s what Jackie Jennings has to say about 2017.

A refresher course: Yesterday’s heartthrobs are now the parents of Riverdale’s new generation of heartthrobs (although, to be fair, Luke Perry and Skeet Ulrich are still pretty easy on the eyes). Also, sisters are complicated, but don’t come between them (which apparently DOES NOT apply to brothers, specifically if you’re looking at Thor and Loki).

Furthermore, don’t mess with a superhero’s friends, because they're (probably) gonna bring you a world of pain. And most importantly: Clowns are still terrifying (yes, yes they are. Thank you, IT).

Of course, there's a whole lot more to glean from 2017, as well, so don’t forget to check out our video above. And be sure to let us know what other geeky lessons you learned this year in the comments!
