Last week, we got the news that David S. Goyer, who's writing and producing NBC's Constantine right now, is adding another DC Comics TV series to his plate with Krypton, a developing Syfy series that will tell the story of Superman's grandfather and his efforts to change Kryptonian society for the better. Though some people were into the idea, a lot of people, including yours truly, greeted the news with a resounding "Huh?" We already know what happens to Krypton, after all, regardless of what anyone did two generations before the planet blew up, so this feels like an odd idea for a prequel.

That said, it's entirely possible that Krypton will be so entertaining that we won't end up caring about the eventual fate of the planet. We'll have to watch and find out. Since prequels were put back on all of our minds this week, though, I couldn't help thinking about comic-book prequel shows I'd rather watch. So we compiled nearly a dozen prequel TV series ideas, all inspired by comics, and put them in the gallery below. Check out our choices, and let us know in the comments what comics prequel you'd most like to see. Or, if you're just sick of prequels altogether, let us know that, too.
