Syfy has dropped the latest trailer for the hotly anticipated third season of their time-travel series 12 Monkeys, giving us our first look at Christopher Lloyd.

The Back to the Future and Star Trek actor will play the Pallid Man’s (Tom Noonan) father, who has been one of the main antagonists of the series since Day One, and a devout follower of the Witness and his Army of the 12 Monkeys. Talking about the Witness, he's the one seen slowly taking off his plague mask in the final seconds of the promo.

I don't know about you, but doesn’t he look and sound an awful lot like James Callis? The Battlestar Galactica actor was cast a few months ago by showrunner Terry Matalas as a “highly anticipated and pivotal new character to our series’ mythology.” Callis certainly looks to be playing the man responsible for creating the plague. There’s more to see in the trailer, including some of the time periods our intrepid time travelers will splinter to, Cole learning the truth and more.

The third season finds Cole and Railly embarking on a desperate search across time to find the man responsible for the apocalypse, a time traveler who calls himself the Witness. Killing the Witness will mean saving the world, but the journey will come at tremendous personal stakes for the two and will call into question new alliances, old bonds, and the virtue of the mission itself.

12 Monkeys will return for an epic 10-episode third season spread over three consecutive nights starting on Friday, May 19, and ending on Sunday, May 21. A fourth a final season of the series has already been ordered by Syfy.
