14 movie and TV robots that took a licking and kept on ticking

You can’t keep a good robot down. Or an evil one. Or any robot, really.

Most are built to take a beating, designed to bounce back from shotgun blasts or to continue functioning while lying in singed metal pieces. Even when you are absolutely convinced an android has passed the point of no reboot, when you’ve violently disassembled the machine and melted it down into droid nuggets, some mad tinker will still eventually come along and rebuild it.

Throughout the history of film and television, robots are always getting their cans kicked. Yet, whether it’s your bestie 'bot forever or the kill-o-matic unit from the future, you can count on a robot to come back to find you. Loyalty and assassination programming are kind of the same thing.

That’s why we respect them. Here’s are 14 robots who had their chips handed to them and returned for more. (Minor spoiler warning.)
