Do you like moody, imaginative horror with a first-rate premise, based on a series of graphic novels by Joe Hill? Well, Fox doesn't—the network created a pilot for a potential TV series based on the critically acclaimed Locke & Key ... but they decided not to go forward with the show.

SuperHeroHype managed to get its digital hands on the trailer, which will likely be the only footage we'll get to see. In it, we get a taste of what could have been. A family without a father. A timeworn mansion. And a restless spirit living uneasily inside a well.

Originally set to be a feature film, Locke & Key shifted gears toward a television series after Steven Spielberg signed on as the executive producer, according Wikipedia.

We think it could have been really terrific. What do you think?
