Netflix is looking to up its Halloween game considerably this year, and the streaming service's latest original film looks like the kind of throwback horror flick that's perfect for a bloody good weekend.
In The Babysitter, director McG (Charlie's Angels) mixes horror movie tropes with R-rated humor. The plot centers on a kid who discovers his overtly attractive caretaker is apparently part of a Devil-worshiping cult. When the parents are gone and the children are asleep, what’s an evil babysitter to do? A human sacrifice with the kiddos sounds about right.
The ensemble cast is filled with familiar faces ranging from Robbie Amell (The X-Files, Flash) and Bella Thorne (Scream) to veteran internet comedian Andrew Bachelor, aka King Bach. Judging by the trailer, this crew doesn’t take itself too seriously. They’re all about blood and gore, but also hygiene and protecting themselves from STDs. Hey, all that blood can get dangerous.
The Babysitter premieres Oct. 13 on Netflix.
