To call Telltale's The Walking Dead: The Game a tough act to follow would be an understatement. Many have dubbed it game of the year, and the five-part series revolutionized the concept of episodic gaming. But now another Walking Dead game is in the works—and we've got the first look right here.
Whereas Telltale's game took a 3D puzzle-solving approach, the upcoming Survival Instinct from Activision and Terminal Reality is an action-packed first-person shooter, employing everything from shotguns to buck knives.
The coolest part? The game follows characters Merle and Daryl Dixon, meaning the game is based on the television show, as the Dixon brothers were not introduced until the TV series.
Here's the synopsis:
This first-person survival title takes place within the universe of "The Walking Dead" and before the events of the AMC show, following Daryl and Merle on a gruesome journey to reach Atlanta as the world around them ends. Norman Reedus and Michael Rooker will bring life to their characters' desperate, unforgiving struggle against limited resources, the nightmarish walkers, and, perhaps, their fellow survivors...Check out the first piece of gameplay footage below:
Survival Instinct hits shelves at some point in 2013. Do you plan on checking it out?
