1st trailer for BSG producer Ron Moore's new Syfy series Helix

Something really, really creepy is going on in the first teaser trailer for Ronald D. Moore’s (Battlestar Galactica) new Syfy series Helix.

The network has revealed the first peek at Moore’s The Thing-esque series, which follows a team of several dozen scientists working at a large Arctic research facility. The scientists apparently stumble upon something that could potentially destroy the world, leading to "a terrifying life-and-death struggle that holds the key to mankind’s salvation or total annihilation."

The teaser sets the scene, with a slow pan through the snowy landscape offering a peek at the research base. We then cut to a pristine, white-washed research lab, where a scientist takes off his mask to reveal ... something creepy leaking off his face.

What is that black ooze? We don’t know, but we really want to find out.
