Promotion for the highly anticipated adaptation of The Hunger Games is on fire! No, seriously, the new poster for the movie is literally on fire. This isn't your grandma's onesheet, it's a motion poster and it will set your computer screen ablaze!
The Hunger Games won't hit theaters until March 23, but it's never too early to start good marketing. Just ask the folks who're working on The Dark Knight Rises; they know what we're talking about. The Hunger Games is based on the popular book series by Suzanne Collins that centers on a group of kids struggling to survive in the cutthroat country Panem.
In the story, a boy and girl are chosen from each of the country's 12 districts to fight each other to the death until only one remains. A 16-year-old named Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) is one of the competitors, who ends up leading a rebellion against the brutal "sport."
In the poster, we see the mockingjay symbol, which Katniss wears as a pin in the books and the film. It's pretty much a sign that says "screw you" to the government. Therefore the fiery image brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen."
What do you think of the new motion poster for The Hunger Games? Are you excited to see the film?
