There's finally been some movement on The Evil Dead front. The remake has found its leading lady, and (surprisingly) she has a fairytale past.

Up-and-comer Lily Collins is the first actor to join the new Evil Dead. According to Bloody Disgusting, she's been cast as Mia, one of five friends who find themselves stranded in a remote cabin. It's there that they discover the Book of the Dead, which unleashes evil spirits that possess them one by one.

Collins' character is a bit rough around the edges. She's a drug addict who thinks a vacation could help her detox. But when the trip takes a supernatural turn, her past comes back to haunt her. When she tells the group she's been attacked by "coyotes and trees," no one believes her. They assume she's under the influence and hallucinating.

Speaking of the group, the other characters yet to be cast are David, Natalie, Olivia and Eric. David and Natalie are engaged, Olivia is Mia's best friend, and Eric is the unlucky one who unleashes the demons from the book.

Before joining The Evil Dead, Lily Collins played Sandra Bullock's daughter in The Blind Side, Paul Bettany's niece in Priest and Taylor Lautner's girlfriend in Abduction.

Next up, she'll appear in Tarsem Singh's Mirror, Mirror as the fairytale princess Snow White.
