2 new Hobbit pics show Gollum is still as creepy as we remember

We may not know if we're going to have two or three films based on J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit—but now we do have a really good look at how they're handling the younger Gollum for the Lord of the Rings prequel.

The folks at E! have landed some pics of motion-capture actor Andy Serkis in the role of the One Ring's former owner, plus an after-effects shot showing the creepy crawler in all his glory.

It's interesting to see Serkis in action, and his interaction with Bilbo actor Martin Freeman looks just like two regular ol' actors playing out a scene—except, you know, Serkis is sporting a huge mo-cap suit.

If rumors of a third Hobbit film come to pass, we may get to see even more of the slimy cave dweller in the future. But until then, check out the new shooting pics below.
