New I Am Heath Ledger doc shines a light on the actor's brief but brilliant career

Heath Ledger left this blessed Earth far sooner than ever imagined when he passed away of an accidental overdose in 2008. We remaining mortals were left with some truly memorable performances in his movies, like Brokeback Mountain, A Knight's Tale, Lords of Dogtown, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus and, of course, his twisted turn as the Clown Prince of Crime, The Joker, in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight.

A new documentary from director Derik Murray titled I Am Heath Ledger celebrates the all-too-short life of Ledger through rarely seen home movie footage, candid outtakes, clips from his numerous films and interviews with relatives, colleagues and close friends, including Ang Lee, Naomi Watts, Ben Mendelsohn, Ben Harper, Steve Alexander and Christina Cauchi.

I Am Heath Ledger screens at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 23, followed by a limited theatrical run on May 3 before Spike airs the documentary May 17.

Have a look at this touching new trailer and tell us your most memorable Ledger moment in the movies.
