24 (mostly) non-movie X-Men who could flourish on a TV show

For the past few days the Internet's been buzzing with the rumor that Fox is in "deep development" on a live-action X-Men series, which would add to the empire the studio continues to build with the mutants on the big screen. In many ways, the heavily interconnected, soap-opera-tinged storytelling of the X-Men comics is a perfect fit for the long-form option television allows, so in the right hands this could be a lot of fun. The question remains, though: If this rumor is true, which mutants would Fox put on TV? We've heard rumors, but it could be a long time before we know for sure.

That doesn't stop us from thinking about who could be on the show, though, and fortunately for us there are dozens upon dozens of X-characters who haven't made it to the screen yet, or who made it to the screen so briefly and inconsequentially that a jump to TV wouldn't be a big stretch. So we did some pondering and gathered two dozen mutants who'd be great on an X-Men TV series in the gallery below. They range from telepaths to weapons experts, from assassins to kind-hearted leaders, and from aliens to machines, and they're all just waiting for a live-action spotlight.

Take a look at our choices below, and then let us know in the comments which X-Men you'd most like to see on TV.
