When Andrew Garfield was named as the new Spider-Man earlier this month, we have to admit, we were kind of surprised. Didn't Josh Hutcherson have a lock on the role? Turns out he didn't—but that doesn't mean we don't get to see what kind of Spider-Man he might have been!
Hutcherson, who'd played Brendan Fraser's nephew in Journey to the Center of the Earth was the front runner for the role—until New Line exercised its option on the Center sequel, taking him out of the running.
We'd love to see Hutcherson's audition someday so we can judge what kind of wallcrawler the actor would have made, but until then, check out these screengrabs obtained by thinkmcflythink and let us know what you think.
Does that look like the face of Peter Parker? Should Hutcherson, not Garfield, have been the new Spider-Man?
