5 Doctor Who clips for 'The Girl Who Waited' make us hate to wait

In "Eleventh Hour," the first Doctor Who episode in which companion Amy Pond appeared, the Doctor said, "Amy Pond, the Girl Who Waited. You've waited long enough." Prophetic words. And they're about to haunt the redhead in "The Girl Who Waited."

The BBC has released five clips of the upcoming episode. Three of these clips are snippets of the episode, while two others are interviews with the crew. In them, we learn that Amy is held in a quarantine facility and becomes separated from the Doctor and Rory ... where she presumably waits.

She must be waiting a long time: In the episode trailer, it looks as if Amy has aged at least a decade.

What happens to Amy? And the Doctor, who is threatened by a plague? And how does Rory react when he's stuck with the Doctor and kept apart from his wife?

We don't know. Until Doctor Who airs here in America on BBCAmerica on Saturday, Sept. 10, 9 p.m. EST, just call us "the audience who waited."
