Five minutes of Roland Emmerich's new disaster movie 2012 debuted on TV and the Web, and you can view it after the jump.

The clip shows the destruction of Los Angeles, including several recognizable landmarks, while a family led by John Cusack tries to escape. There's also a lot of tongue-in-cheek humor, including a California governor with an Austrian accent, and some of it's pretty lame. But the demolition-derby visual effects are quite effective.

The movie, about the end of the world, opens Nov. 13. Look for more coverage of 2012 on SCI FI Wire soon.
