Does the 6th Doc think number 12 could be a time lady?
When Matt Smith first landed the role of the Doctor, I ran into Colin Baker at San Diego Comic-Con. At the time, we both agreed he was far too young for the part and found ourselves both a tad nervous for the future of the series.
How wrong we both were.
And Colin concedes as much in a recent interview, saying of Matt Smith, "He's fantastic. I'm loving watching him."
Perhaps in the spirit of that, when asked in the same interview about who should play the 12th Doctor, Colin immediately began by addressing the controversial question of whether the Doctor can be played by a woman. Colin said of the next Doctor, "There's absolutely no reason why it shouldn't be female," and "If the Doctor has twelve incarnations, surely he must be in touch with his feminine side to a certain extent."
So, much like John Barrowman, Colin Baker has found himself in the pro category on the controversial topic. If you've been against a female Doctor, does this former Doctor's opinion change your viewpoint?
