8 things we want to see in Sunday's Game of Thrones S3 finale

It's been a hell of a season for Game of Thrones.

If you're like us, you're still recovering from the events of last week's episode. Even if you knew it was coming, that was still a brutal, gut-wrenching thing to watch. But there's not much time left to dwell on the past. The season finale is coming at us in two days, and it's time to talk expectations.

Of course, it's not that hard to predict the future when it comes to Thrones. There are books, after all, and in terms of major character arcs the show has stayed largely true to George R. R. Martin's work. We could just go re-read the third book, A Storm of Swords, and guess exactly what'll happen in the next hour of TV based on what the season's already covered, right?

But here's the thing: Thrones is splitting Swords into two seasons, and the writers are playing with the timeline a bit. So in a show that jumps around so much between characters, we can't be completely sure what'll happen in this season and what they'll save until the next. There's an air of mystery there, because we still get to be somewhat surprised by how the story we know plays out before us in new ways. We get to see how the closing of season three will set up and shape the big events we can expect in season four (and trust us, there are some big events coming in season four).

So, keeping in mind that we already know what will happen in some form or another, we started thinking about what we want from a satisfying season finale as TV viewers. What can the Thrones finale do to satisfy us and leave us wanting more? Well, it can start with the eight points we've listed below.

What do you think? What do you want to see as Game of Thrones closes out a crazy third season?
