A Quiet Place and Hereditary were definitely snubbed by the Oscar nominations, but that doesn't mean the best horror films of 2018 will go unnoticed.

Mere hours after the Academy announced this year's Oscar hopefuls, Fangoria dropped the scary contenders for its Chainsaw Awards. Among those vying for Best Horror Movie of 2018 are: A Quiet Place, Hereditary, Halloween, Overlord, Mandy, Bird Box, and Suspiria. Even Upgrade and Anna and the Apocalypse are on the list.

"We figured everyone was already up early, so we went ahead and dropped the nominees for the 2019 CHAINSAW AWARDS. Unlike the Oscars, you decide the winners," reads Fangoria's post on Instagram, which you can check out below.

Some of television's best genre series from 2018 are also up for awards. Castle Rock, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, Channel Zero, The Haunting of Hill House, and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina all land some creep-tastic nominations.

"2018 gave us an embarrassment of horror riches, and the rise of original streaming content necessitated the creation of a whole new category! Choosing between these amazing nominees will not be easy," says the official voting website.

You can cast your votes right here over the next week. Winners are to be announced in "Fango #3." Let us know who you're rooting for in the comments below!
