Remember when Godric, the gentle 2,000-year-old bloodsucker who sired everyone's favorite blond vampire, Eric Northman, literally bit the dust during True Blood's second season? Well, rejoice one and all, because he'll be back for the hit HBO series' fourth season this summer!
According to TV Line, actor Allan Hyde will yet again reprise the role of the gentle vampire who met a fiery death when he "met the sun" back in season two.
Despite dying, the former sheriff of Area 9 already made a brief reappearance early on during True Blood's third season as a World War II Nazi-clad werewolf hunter alongside Eric, as well as in the season finale when Godric came back as Eric's "spiritual guide."
But as to which form Godric will reappear in for season four, show creator and executive producer Alan Ball didn't want to reveal it just yet, simply saying that we'll see "a different side of Godric."
There's also no word on how many episodes and for how long the character will be back.
We don't know about you, but our interest has seriously been piqued, and we're wondering what the True Blood people have in mind for the character. Will it be more flashbacks? Will Godric be back as a spiritual guide again? Will he be simply resurrected?
HBO, bring on season four!
