Between Batman v Superman and DC’s connected slate of animated films, we already have more than a few versions of the Dark Knight. Well, make room for a throwback from a different era.

Adam West and Burt Ward participated in a Batman panel at the Mad Monster Party in Charlotte, N.C. The big reveal from Ward? He and West will be back in action thanks to a new full-length animated Batman film to commemorate the 50th anniversary in 2016. There will be at least one film, but Ward said there’s a chance the initiative could generate two features.

The Batman ’66 brand has been enjoying one heck of a renaissance in recent years, thanks to an acclaimed comic-book run and the long-delayed release of the full series on DVD. The comic has shown there are still more than a few good stories left to tell in this world, and we can't wait to see them. If there was ever a time to capitalize with some new ZAPS! and POWS!, this is it.
