It’s been a long time since new issues of Afterlife With Archie and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina have actually been released, but don’t worry, the undead adventures of the Riverdale gang really are coming back.

In a statement to Vulture, the comic publisher confirmed the two hit series will return with new issues later this year, while also making at least some effort to find a manageable publishing schedule. The company says Sabrina will have issue No. 5 arrive Mat 18, which Afterlife’s ninth issue is scheduled for release on June 1. Yeah, it’s still a wait, but at least we have some semblance of a target in place now. So what took so long? That new CW Riverdale series probably has something to do with it.

Here’s what the company said when confirming the new dates:

“After a too long delay, Archie Horror is back from near-death, with a new issue of Afterlife with Archie and a new issue of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. With follow-up issues already in process! There’s no excuse for late books, just apologies. It’s been a humbling — and busy — few months. I’ve been working on our soon-to-be filmed television pilot Riverdale, which will bring our favorite characters to life for the first time in … decades, maybe? Again, that’s not an excuse, just something that’s been taking up a lot of time and energy. But … we’re back! And, as always, Francesco Francavilla and Robert Hack are doing the work of their careers. We know how much these books mean to you — so thank you, thank you, thank you for sticking with us through thick and thin. You’re the best fans in the world, is the truth, and hopefully we can serve you on a more consistent schedule over the next few months.”

Both comics are a dark, fresh spin on the classic Archie universe. Afterlife follows the famed characters of Archie Comics as they make a run from Riverdale following the zombie apocalypse, while Sabrina is a witchy, retro horror tale. So take the months until the new issues arrive to catch up.

Vulture also showed off some preview pages from the new issues:
