When last we left our heroes in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., team leader Agent Coulson lost an arm, Cal kills Skye’s mother Jiaying (who turns out to have been evil), and Simmons gets sucked into a Kree artifact. But that’s on-screen. At San Diego Comic-Con, our heroes are alive and well to tell us more about the upcoming Season 3 … and where the agents stand on the upcoming Civil War.

Of course, they’re not revealing much. And not just because, as Clark Gregg (Coulson) told Coming Soon, “We could, but we’d be lying.”

Gregg said, “[T]here are a lot of things they decide not to decide yet.”

However, whatever happens in the big-screen Marvel Cinematic Universe will likely reverberate through Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. “And they wait and see what works and evolves in the cut of Civil War and what happens with Jessica Jones and Daredevil. They’ve got story happening on so many platforms in phase 3, I think they’re going to wait and see what happens,” said Gregg.

But Chloe Bennett, who plays Skye, at least knows the after-effects of Jaiying's attempted murder: “I like to think she’s extra determined. I believe we’re going to be recruiting Inhumans, and there has been news about the Secret Warriors …”

Secret Warriors? <needle scratch>

The Secret Warriors are a Marvel team headed by Skye herself, under the leadership of Nick Fury. It bodes well for Skye’s future as an agent (in the comics, she also puts her Quake powers to good use in the Avengers), one with the same security clearance (and, presumably, lanyard) as Nick Fury and Natasha Romanov.

But her loyalty to Fury is tested when he ousts a member of her team without her permission. And then there’s the incident with her boyfriend, Hellfire

Will Skye’s path follow the same path as Marvel’s Quake? Tune in to Season 3 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for more.

Interestingly, Skye will no longer be referred to as Skye. Bennett’s character is now “Daisy Johnson”—a fact that’s reflected in the scripts and on the actress’ trailer.
