After watching them in Firefly and most recently Con Man, Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk have become my favorite dynamic duo, with Fillion bringing the cheesy goodness and Tudyk providing the light touch. But what would be better than seeing them on a small screen? Seeing them in glorious 3D. And if the right words go in the right ears, we might see them as superhero partners.

Last month, we heard reports that DC may be developing a movie starring their more irreverent characters, Booster Gold and Blue Beetle. It’s clear to everyone who’s seen Dr. Horrible’s Sing-along Blog that Fillion would be perfect for the role of Booster Gold, the self-centered hero who actually proved to be heroic. Fillion agrees, says “That’s kind of my niche…show-offy, vain…not too bright.”

Now Tudyk is on board, saying he would be up for the role of Blue Beetle.

According to

“Well, that’s great. If it’s working with Nathan, I’m in,” Tudyk said of the fan support, adding, “Also, being a bug for me? I’d like that. Roly-poly is nice. I’d like to be one of them. That’s what we called them back in Texas, but they’re almost a beetle.”

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has included the irreverent Guardians of the Galaxy in its winning mix of movies. A Booster Gold/Blue Beetle film may be the antidote for the DC Cinematic Universe’s roster of dark knights and dark Kryptonians.
