It’s almost hard to believe, but when Resident Evil: The Final Chapter opens in theaters early next year, Alice’s (Milla Jovovich) fight against the evil Umbrella Corporation will have started 15 years ago with the first Resident Evil (2002).
The sixth and final entry in the zombie-filled, action-packed horror movie franchise will see the final reckoning between our badass heroine and Umbrella, taking the fight where it all began: Raccoon City and the Hive. There, Alice will have to face off against Dr. Alexander Isaacs (Iain Glen) and the Red Queen. Along for the ride is Shawn Roberts as the dastardly Albert Weskers.
The movie will also reunite Alice with Claire Redfield (Heroes' Ali Larter), who’s been MIA since the events of 2010's Resident Evil: Afterlife. You can see said reunion in the new Japanese clip below (don’t worry, it’s in English with Japanese subtitles only), where she also gets to “meet” a new character named Doc, played by Eoin Macken (Merlin, The Night Shift). Note to self: There’s nothing like having a needle pressed against one’s neck to make a memorable first impression. Not so sure it's a good one. Here's the movie synopsis:
Picking up immediately after the events in Resident Evil: Retribution, humanity is on its last legs after Alice is betrayed by Wesker in Washington D.C. As the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity’s final stand against the undead hordes, Alice must return to where the nightmare began – Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse. In a race against time Alice will join forces with old friends, and an unlikely ally, in an action packed battle with undead hordes and new mutant monsters. Between losing her superhuman abilities and Umbrella’s impending attack, this will be Alice’s most difficult adventure as she fights to save humanity, which is on the brink of oblivion.
Written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter stars Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Iain Glen, Shawn Roberts, Ruby Rose, Eoin Macken, William Levy, Fraser James and Rola. The movie will open on Jan. 27, 2017. After you've taken a look at the clip, scroll down to check out some new character posters included in the gallery below.
