The first trailer for Tomb Raider has dropped, and while we still parse through its secrets, Warner Bros. has dropped another featurette focusing on what it takes to bring the world of Lara Croft to life.

Most of the focus is on star Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina), who hit the gym to step into the shoes of the iconic video game explorer. Vikander talks about how she battled everything from near-hypothermia to brutal action scenes to tell Lara’s origin story, which tracks her evolution from a regular girl in London to the tomb raider we know and love. Vikander said the story is kickstarted by Lara setting off on an adventure to try and learn more about her father, a mission that puts her in the sights of Walton Goggins’ (Justified) Mathias Vogel.

Goggins, who is no stranger to action gigs thanks to his stints on everything from The Shield to Justified to Maze Runner: The Death Cure, Django Unchained, and The Hateful Eight, was also impressed with Vikander’s butt-kicking abilities. So yeah, that’s no faint praise.

Tomb Raider opens March 16, 2018.
