One of the more intriguing characters that will drop onto the hostile planet with the Alien: Covenant colonists is an advanced android unit named Walter.
Walter is a next-gen A.I. clone of David, the Lawrence of Arabia-loving synthetic last seen being stuffed into a duffel bag by Noomi Rapace's Shaw in Prometheus, with some subtle emotional sterilization.
20th Century Fox wants you to get up close and personal with Walter and has provided a new faux Weyland-Yutani ad to help you get to know him better. Director Ridley Scott and 3AM produced this eerie orientation, with directorial duties capably handled by Scott's son, Luke (Morgan).
Once more 'round the Antares Maelstrom with the official synopsis:
Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created with Alien: Covenant, a new chapter in his groundbreaking Alien franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.
Check out this unsettling "Meet Walter" corporate creation video and make friends with the Covenant's resident android. Alien: Covenant opens on May 19.
