After introducing the character of David in Prometheus, Michael Fassbender is back in a big way in Alien: Covenant. So, how does it all fit together?
We caught up with Fassbender and director Ridley Scott to talk about the character — as well as Fassbender’s other character in the film, the android Walter — to see what it was like to play two characters. They note the evolution of David's obsession with creation and how he's playing god in this film. Scott also touches on David's evolution to embrace this larger role as an architect in Covenant.
As far as playing two roles, Fassbender said David was more fun to play, though he also enjoyed playing Walter to shake things up. The on-ship android was a bit more clinical, but the real meat was finding the personality and theatricality in David.
Alien: Covenant opens on May 19. Check out the interview below.
