While we wait with bated breath for the premiere of Alien: Covenant, set to burst onto the big screen next week (May 19), these amazing baked goods are sure to whet your appetite for the upcoming Prometheus sequel/Alien prequel.

Photographer and stylist Christine H. McConnell has joined forces with the Alien: Covenant 20th Century Fox movie team to create visually stunning and insanely detailed cakes (which she shared via her Facebook page) celebrating the upcoming release of director Ridley Scott’s movie. In fact, these look so good there’s no way I’d ever eat them! Just look at the intricate details and the carefully staged scenes. That's enough to send a delicious chill down your spine, don't you think?

Talking of Scott, this one is already prepping to film another Alien movie within the next 14 months or so. Unless the movie tanks. Which I really hope not, because I love me some Xenomorph action (let's forget about AVP: Alien vs Predator and its sequel, shall we?). Right now, the new Alien film is currently sitting at a 75% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but that’s bound to change as the premiere date draws closer.

Dig into the gallery below and take a tasty morsel of Christine H. McConnell's Alien: Covenant cakes.
