Weâre always interested to see some good, low-budget horror movies â and hereâs one that brings an Egyptian twist to the tried and true scare tropes.
Dubbed The Pyramid, the first trailer for the new, found footage horror movie has arrived. Basically, it looks like an insane mish-mash of Indiana Jones, The Descent, Alien and The Mummy all crammed into one. Though itâs hard to judge it all from the trailer, weâre not saying thatâs a bad thing.
The film was directed by Gregory Levasseur and produced by Alex Aja. The duo previously worked together on the horror remake The Hills Have Eyes. This scare fest stars a cast of relative unknowns, including Ashley Hinshaw, Denis OâHare, James Buckley and Daniel Amerman.
Hereâs the official synopsis, which says pretty much all you need to know:
âThe ancient wonders of the world have long cursed explorers whoâve dared to uncover their secrets. But a team of U.S. archaeologists gets more than they bargained for when they discover a lost pyramid unlike any other in the Egyptian desert. As they unlock the horrific secrets buried within, they realize they arenât just trapped, they are being hunted.â
