Looks like Michael Bay has finally seen the light.
It's been a rough couple of years for fans of the Turtles. Getting a new Ninja Turtles film was turning out to be a Faustian be-careful-what-you-wish-for gambit. The producers, the writers, the casting, take your pick -- fans had a lot to be nervous about. But the thing that everybody was absolutely most concerned about was the title change. Gone were the words "Teenage" and "Mutant," until all we were left with was Ninja Turtles. And, in fact, it was looking like mutation would not be involved at all. These turtles were ALIENS.
But it looks like those dogged days of praying to Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman to set things right are finally over. At CinemaCon this week, Paramount debuted a new logo for the movie, one that read Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
So what happened? Was it the script rewrite from Evan Daugherty? Did Paramount have a change of heart? Did rabid fans kidnap Michael Bay and force him to change things back? Heck if we know, but the truth remains -- The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back!
