The official trailer for Netflix's Altered Carbon is here, and it's a neon-soaked cyberpunk-noir thrill ride that resembles the love child of Blade Runner and Minority Report. Stringing together the teasers that have been released over the last month, this new preview shows investigator Takeshi Kovacs, whose consciousness is transferred into a new body (played by Suicide Squad's Joel Kinnaman) so that he can solve the murder of the uber-wealthy tycoon Laurens Bancroft (James Purefoy). The interesting sci-fi twist comes when Kovacs is hired by Bancroft himself as death is now avoidable in this brave yet dystopian world.

In his new body, which is property of Bancroft's company, Kovacs has a built-in body cam and combat-level muscle memory already installed. In his John Anderton-meets-Rick Deckard role, he must solve the murder or face the consequences. It gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "I brought you into this world and I can take you out of it." Will Yun Lee will play the recurring role of the character's original body.

Based on author Richard K. Morgan's Takeshi Kovacs trilogy, Altered Carbon takes its title from the first book in the series. The following installments are Broken Angels and Woken Furies, and it is unclear whether the show will draw its plot from only the first or all three. Fans can focus their own consciousness on the new series when it debuts on Feb 2
