Even the entertainment industry is not immune to the rippling effects of the tragic Las Vegas massacre, writes The Hollywood Reporter. A mass shooting scene in the currently running seventh season of anthology series American Horror Story (AHS: Cult) will be edited, said the show’s co-creator Ryan Murphy at a New Yorker Fest panel today.

Apparently, the scene—filmed before the Vegas shooting—has been revised to be less graphic and violent. This is not the first time film and television have been subject to last-minute changes in the wake of national tragedies. By means of example, Men in Black II’s ending originally included the Twin Towers but was refilmed after 9/11, while just this weekend Marvel and Netflix pulled its Punisher panel from New York Comic Con.

The American Horror Story: Cult episode in the question airs this Tuesday (Oct. 10) on FX at 10 p.m.
