It seems that there's more than meets the eye to Amy Adams' linguist character in this final trailer for director Denis Villeneuve's Arrival. This eerie sci-fi thriller is based on Ted Chiang’s 1998 short story "Story of Your Life" and details the first encounter with intelligent aliens in shell-like spaceships positioned around the globe. Even in this last trailer, the filmmakers are keeping the biggest reveals for the theater (what a concept!) as Adams prepares for a bizarre rendezvous with an extraterrestrial culture in an attempt to communicate.

Here's Paramount's official synopsis:

When mysterious spacecrafts touch down across the globe, an elite team - lead by expert linguist Louise Banks (Amy Adams) - is brought together to investigate. As mankind teeters on the verge of global war, Banks and the team race against time for answers – and to find them, she will take a chance that could threaten her life, and quite possibly humanity.

Also starring Jeremy Renner (Captain America: Civil War) and Forest Whitaker (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Black Panther), Arrival lands in theaters on Nov. 11 after a sensational film festival debut this fall.  Have a look at this newest preview and tell us if you're on board.
